German BSI Approves Of Hyper-V Security

Ben Armstrong just blogged that Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V with KBKB950050 has been formally certified as being EAL4+ compliant by the German Federal Office for Information Security.

The report says:

“A part of the procedure is the technical examination (evaluation) of the product according to the security criteria published by the BSI or generally recognised security criteria.

The Certification Results contain the technical description of the security functionality of the certified product, the details of the evaluation (strength and weaknesses) and instructions for the user”.

So that’s a “thumbs up” from the Germans to the security of Hyper-V.
