Microsoft released<\/a> the System Center Configuration Analyzer a little ago.\u00a0 I\u2019m setting VMM 2008 R2 up on my new demo laptop so I decided to do a little blogging.\u00a0 You\u2019ll find that the VMM 2008 R2 installer splash screen also has a link for this tool.\u00a0 I use the order of the hyperlinks in that splash screen as my working order to install VMM 2008 R2. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a simple requirement: Install Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyser<\/a>.\u00a0 Once you have that installed then kick off the MSI for the VMMCA: <\/p>\n

The setup is the usual next-next fare which isn\u2019t worth wasting the kilobits over \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

The tool is really pretty simple.\u00a0 Specify the name of the machine(s) that will run each of the VMM roles.\u00a0 The tool then goes off and scans them. <\/p>\n

It then generates a report as \u201cC:Program FilesVirtual Machine Manager Configuration Analyzerreport.html\u201d which is automatically opened in your browser.\u00a0 As you can see, I had no issues \u2013 this is a new install of Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS installed. <\/p>\n

I can also run this tool if I\u2019m having problems with VMM 2008 R2 to see if it can detect issues.\u00a0 It\u2019s small and it\u2019s handy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
