{"id":9017,"date":"2008-02-04T16:26:00","date_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=9017"},"modified":"2008-02-04T16:26:00","modified_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","slug":"windows-server-2008-and-windows-vista-sp1-rtm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=9017","title":{"rendered":"Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista SP1 RTM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I broke earlier, Windows Server 2008 did in fact RTM today.\u00a0 Windows Server 2008 Datacenter, Enterprise and Standard (x64) is available from TechNet and I have read of people downloading from MSDN as well.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll probably have to wait another month until it is on shelves.\n<\/p>\n<p>Also available now are WAIK for all platforms and MUI for x64.\u00a0 Lanugages for all packages at the moment are English, French, German, Japaneses and Spanish.\u00a0 Other platforms and languages are expected over the coming days.\u00a0 Versions with RTM Hyper-V are not expected for six months.\n<\/p>\n<p>Windows Vista SP1 has also been <a href=\"http:\/\/windowsvistablog.com\/blogs\/windowsvista\/archive\/2008\/02\/04\/announcing-the-rtm-of-windows-vista-sp1.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">announced<\/a> as RTM.\u00a0 Unlike Windows Server 2008, you&#8217;ll have access to it from March onwards.\u00a0 The initial public release will be via Windows Update.\u00a0 It&#8217;s gonna be a big download so you might want to think about whether you&#8217;ll download that automatically or not if you have nested WSUS servers across your WAN &#8211; you probably shouldn&#8217;t have automated approvals anyway!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I broke earlier, Windows Server 2008 did in fact RTM today.\u00a0 Windows Server 2008 Datacenter, Enterprise and Standard (x64) is available from TechNet and I have read of people downloading from MSDN as well.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll probably have to wait another month until it is on shelves.
