{"id":8588,"date":"2006-10-07T15:00:00","date_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=8588"},"modified":"2006-10-07T15:00:00","modified_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","slug":"here-comes-ie7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=8588","title":{"rendered":"Here Comes IE7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The final &quot;release&quot; version of Internet Explorer is going to be avale for download this month.\u00a0 It will initially be available for downloads and will then be available via Automatic Updates.<\/p>\n<p>I really like IE7.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been using beta releases of it for several months.\u00a0 There are some nigglies (like not be able to permanently approve actions for specified sites) but on the whole, it&#8217;s a major upgrade from IE6.\u00a0 I make great use of the RSS reader and tabbed browsing is a plus.\u00a0 The latter was long overdue from the IE team.<\/p>\n<p>IE7 will be made available via automatic updates and via WSUS.\u00a0 WSUS administrators can choose to not approve the download thus preventing automated deployment of\u00a0IE7 on their networks.\u00a0 There is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/downloads\/details.aspx?FamilyID=4516A6F7-5D44-482B-9DBD-869B4A90159C&amp;displaylang=en\">tool<\/a> to prevent automated download via Automatic Updates for standalone computers.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The IE team has <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/ie\/archive\/2006\/10\/06\/IE7-Is-Coming-This-Month_2E002E002E00_Are-you-Ready_3F00_.aspx\">posted an entry<\/a> on their blog about how to prepare for the deployment of IE7.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The final &quot;release&quot; version of Internet Explorer is going to be avale for download this month.\u00a0 It will initially be available for downloads and will then be available via Automatic Updates.
