{"id":8547,"date":"2006-09-18T11:47:00","date_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=8547"},"modified":"2006-09-18T11:47:00","modified_gmt":"1999-11-29T20:00:00","slug":"isa-2006-better-than-isa-20002004","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=8547","title":{"rendered":"ISA 2006 &#8211; Better Than ISA 2000\/2004?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISA 2004 was a considerable improvement over ISA 2000.\u00a0 It was more secure, feature rich and <em>much<\/em> easier to configure.\u00a0 I find it funny now that I had trouble getting used to how easy it was to configure 2004 as opposed to 2000.<\/p>\n<p>ISAServer.org posted an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isaserver.org\/articles\/White-Paper-Why-ISA-2006-Better-Solution-than-ISA-2000-2004.html\">article<\/a> on why you should consider ISA 2006 and why it is better than ISA 2000\/2004.\u00a0 Given how quickly it followed the 2004 release, I wouldn&#8217;t have thought there was much time to make signifcant improvements.\u00a0 Microsoft proved me wrong.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a good read and anyone using or considering ISA should give it a read.\u00a0 It would appear that ISA 2006 provides the most benifit to anyone using it to publish function rich web services thanks to new features such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Web Farm Load Balancing.<\/li>\n<li>Forms-based authentication support for all Web Publishing Rules.<\/li>\n<li>Kerberos Constrained Delegation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISA 2004 was a considerable improvement over ISA 2000.\u00a0 It was more secure, feature rich and much easier to configure.\u00a0 I find it funny now that I had trouble getting used to how easy it was to configure 2004 as opposed to 2000.
