However, that&#8217;s what Microsoft now thinks, and that&#8217;s had an impact on the Windows 8 support policy. Someone in Redmond needs a quick kick in the nether region, because coffee clearly won&#8217;t be strong enough.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/redmondmag.com\/articles\/2014\/08\/25\/microsoft-support-policies.aspx\">Microsoft&#8217;s Support Policies Have Changed with Faster Windows Releases<\/a>: If <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/gp\/lifecycle-windows81-faq\">Windows 8.1 was a service pack<\/a> for Windows 8 \u2026 ? Seriously!?!?! Note that Windows Server 2012 is <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/lifecycle\/search\/default.aspx?sort=PN&amp;alpha=Windows+server+2012&amp;Filter=FilterNO\">not affected by this madness<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/b\/virtualization\/archive\/2014\/08\/26\/share-your-feedback.aspx\">Share your feedback!<\/a> The virtualization folks in MSFT want feedback on security features in the Cloud OS.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2014\/08\/26\/vmwares_high_wire_balancing_act\/\">&quot;The VMware hyper-v converged stuff is gonna cause an awesome sh1tstorm&quot;<\/a>: And I didn&#8217;t write this!!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And in other news on this slow morning, Steve Ballmer binged on a TV show featuring one of Hollyweird&#8217;s plastic surgery victims.
