Dell has two appliances that they are pushing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MD1200<\/li>\n<li>MD1220: a 24 drive tray, similar to the DataOn DNS-1640<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dell has also <a href=\"http:\/\/en.community.dell.com\/techcenter\/os-applications\/w\/wiki\/5281.deploying-windows-server-2012-r2-storage-spaces-on-dell-powervault.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> Deploying Windows Server 2012 R2 Storage Spaces on Dell PowerVault.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/image1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto; border: 0px;\" title=\"image\" alt=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/image_thumb1.png\" width=\"450\" height=\"255\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<em>2 x clustered servers with 2 x MD12xx JBODs<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, one of the big storage companies has blinked. Who is next?<\/p>\n<p>BTW, when I checked out the Irish pricing, the Dell MD1220 was twice the price of the DataOn DNS-1640.
