{"id":13518,"date":"2012-09-11T09:56:07","date_gmt":"2012-09-11T08:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=13518"},"modified":"2012-09-11T09:56:07","modified_gmt":"2012-09-11T08:56:07","slug":"windows-8-windows-server-2012-configuration-manager-endpoint-protection-and-windows-intune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=13518","title":{"rendered":"Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Configuration Manager, Endpoint Protection, and Windows Intune"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve got 4 blog posts for you to read.<\/p>\n<p>As I was commuting yesterday, Mary Jo Foley <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/microsoft-this-is-how-windows-rt-windows-phone-8-devices-will-be-managed-7000003999\/\" target=\"_blank\">blogged<\/a> about a Microsoft <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/b\/server-cloud\/archive\/2012\/09\/10\/system-center-2012-configuration-manager-sp1-beta-and-windows-intune-update.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> on how System Center Service Pack (SP) 1 &#8211; Configuration Manager (SCCM\/ConfigMgr) and Windows Intune will be changing in the near future.&#160; Some highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>System Center 2012 SP1 Beta is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/downloads\/details.aspx?FamilyID=a171bcea-2dbb-4fc5-8dd1-4ec22f2eb4ef\" target=\"_blank\">out<\/a> <\/li>\n<li>A new version of Windows Intune with WP8 and Windows 8 support is coming in early 2013 <\/li>\n<li>You will be able to integrate ConfigMgr with Windows Intune for unified device management, both company and BYOD \u2013 or use ConfigMgr and Intune separately <\/li>\n<li>Windows Intune will switch to per-user licensing from per-device.
