Yesterdays news is <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=13407\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Dell<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Dell XPS 10 Windows RT tablet was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2012\/8\/30\/3279058\/dell-xps-10-windows-rt-tablet\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2012\/8\/30\/3279058\/dell-xps-10-windows-rt-tablet\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn1.sbnation.com\/entry_photo_images\/5229064\/xs08-30_04-46-12g1020_medium.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Like most of the transformers, there are batteries in the tablet and in the keyboard.&#160; Dell is claiming a 20+ hour life with this device. <em>Nice<\/em>!&#160; Pocket Lint has more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocket-lint.com\/news\/47213\/dell-xps-10-pictures-preview\" target=\"_blank\">information<\/a> and photos of this tablet.&#160; Damn it is thin.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2012\/8\/30\/3279046\/dell-xps-one-27-10-point-touchscreen\" target=\"_blank\">XPS One 27<\/a> AiO with 10 point mutlitouch 27\u201d screen. I reckon the home PC is shifting completely to the AiO design.&#160; Maybe the business machine will eventually &#8211; but that might be many years away because most companies buy towers and reuse existing monitors, expecting a very long life for those monitors.&#160; An XPS Duo 12 convertible laptop was also announced \u2026 I don\u2019t like the look of the XPS converters that have been around for a while.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2012\/8\/30\/3279046\/dell-xps-one-27-10-point-touchscreen\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blogcdn.com\/www.engadget.com\/media\/2012\/06\/xpsone27dell.jpg\" width=\"288\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Samsung<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They didn\u2019t rest on their laurels yesterday. Samsung continued with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2012\/08\/29\/samsung-introduces-ativ-tab-a-10-1-inch-windows-rt-tablet\/\" target=\"_blank\">announcements<\/a> with an ATIV WP8 handset and a traditional 10.1\u201d Windows 8 tablet called the ATIV Tab, running Windows RT.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2012\/08\/29\/samsung-introduces-ativ-tab-a-10-1-inch-windows-rt-tablet\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blogcdn.com\/www.engadget.com\/media\/2012\/08\/samsung-ativ-tab-pr.jpg\" width=\"314\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Engadget reckons it\u2019s lower spec than the newest Android Tab from Samsung.&#160; It weighs 570g and is 8.9mm thick.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>HP<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Guess who is back in the tablet space!?!?! The <a href=\"http:\/\/reviews.cnet.com\/tablets\/hp-envy-x2\/4505-3126_7-35426662.html\" target=\"_blank\">Envy x2<\/a> is a 11.6\u201d transformer, which is proving to be the most popular of the designs from the manufacturers. I believe I read that this has an Atom \u201cClover Trail\u201d processor. If it\u2019s like the Spectre Ultrabook, then it\u2019ll be on the higher end of the price range.&#160; It looks like it\u2019ll cost over $1000, pricing it out of the tablet range and putting it into a convertible laptop space.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reviews.cnet.com\/tablets\/hp-envy-x2\/4505-3126_7-35426662.html\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none; margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.pocket-lint.com\/images\/Hm2H\/hp-envy-x2-windows-8-hybrid-pc-2.jpg?20120830-093429\" width=\"231\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There will be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcentral.ie\/article.aspx?id=19738&amp;utm_source=dlvr.it&amp;utm_medium=twitter\" target=\"_blank\">Windows 8 Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook<\/a> too (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pocket-lint.com\/news\/47202\/hp-spectre-xt-envy-touchsmart-ultrabooks-unveiled\" target=\"_blank\">$1,399.99<\/a>).&#160; This is the first Intel Ultrabook I\u2019ve seen with Thunderbolt connectivity.&#160; According to Techcentral.ie it <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>.. is 17.9mm thick and weighs 2.16kg. The laptop also features USB 3.0, Ethernet and HDMI ports.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>They also say there will be an Envy Touchsmart Ultrabook with:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>14&quot; touch screen and a choice of Intel&#8217;s latest Core processors. The ultrabook weighs 2.16kg and offers up to eight hours of battery life.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><u>Toshiba<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I love the designed-for-Windows 7 Z930 ultrabooks from Toshiba.&#160; They keyboard is way better than the one in my Asus UX31.&#160; Toshiba have opted to go for the hybrid ultrabook\/tablet or slider form factor with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neowin.net\/news\/toshiba-reveals-windows-8-based-satellite-u925t-hybrid\" target=\"_blank\">U925t Ultrabook<\/a>.&#160; Neowin <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neowin.net\/news\/toshiba-reveals-windows-8-based-satellite-u925t-hybrid\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a> that it will have:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>an Intel Core i5 processor inside, along with a 128 GB SSD, two USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, two cameras (front and rear) and a media card reader.
