{"id":13382,"date":"2012-08-24T15:57:14","date_gmt":"2012-08-24T14:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=13382"},"modified":"2012-08-24T15:57:14","modified_gmt":"2012-08-24T14:57:14","slug":"new-ad-replication-status-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=13382","title":{"rendered":"New AD Replication Status Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft has <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/b\/askds\/archive\/2012\/08\/23\/ad-replication-status-tool-is-live.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">released<\/a> a new Active Directory replication diagnostics tool called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=30005\" target=\"_blank\">ADREPLSTATUS<\/a>.&#160; Features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Auto-discovery of the DCs and domains in the Active Directory forest to which the ADREPLSTATUS computer is joined <\/li>\n<li>\u201cErrors only\u201d mode allows administrators to focus only on DCs reporting replication failures <\/li>\n<li>Upon detection of replication errors, ADREPLSTATUS uses its tight integration with resolution content on Microsoft TechNet to display the resolution steps for the top AD Replication errors <\/li>\n<li>Rich sorting and grouping of result output by clicking on any single column header (sort) or by dragging one or more column headers to the filter bar. Use one or both options to arrange output by last replication error, last replication success date, source DC naming context and last replication success date, etc.) <\/li>\n<li>The ability to export replication status data so that it can be imported and viewed by source domain admins, destination domain admins or support professionals using either Microsoft Excel or ADREPLSTATUS <\/li>\n<li>The ability to choose which columns you want displayed and their display order. Both settings are saved as a preference on the ADREPLSTATUS computer <\/li>\n<li>Broad OS version support (Windows XP -&gt; Windows Server 2012 Preview)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check out the original <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.technet.com\/b\/askds\/archive\/2012\/08\/23\/ad-replication-status-tool-is-live.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">blog post<\/a> by Microsoft to learn much more.<\/p>\n<p>Broken AD replication has proven to be a bit of a curse in the past.
