{"id":12235,"date":"2012-03-14T16:54:52","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T16:54:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=12235"},"modified":"2012-03-14T16:54:52","modified_gmt":"2012-03-14T16:54:52","slug":"kb2639032-0x0000003b-stop-error-when-connection-to-csv-is-lost-on-w2008r2-based-failover-cluster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=12235","title":{"rendered":"KB2639032 &#8211; &#8220;0x0000003B&#8221; Stop Error When Connection To CSV Is Lost On W2008R2-based Failover Cluster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s a busy patch download and test day for you Hyper-V admins!&#160; Another (there\u2019s more to come) patch for CSV.&#160; This <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2639032\/en-us?sd=rss&amp;spid=14134\">Hotfix<\/a> refers to a &quot;0x0000003B&quot; stop error when a connection to a CSV is lost on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based failover cluster.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cConsider the following scenario: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>You enable the cluster shared volume (CSV) feature on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based failover cluster. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>You add some disks to the list of cluster shared volumes. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The connection to a disk is lost unexpectedly.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>In this scenario, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following: <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>STOP: 0x0000003B (<var>parameter1<\/var>, <var>parameter2<\/var>, <var>parameter3<\/var>, <var>parameter4<\/var>) <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b><em>Notes<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>This Stop error describes a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION issue. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Not all &quot;0x0000003B&quot; Stop errors are caused by this issue. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>This issue occurs because of a race condition in Partition Manager (Partmgr.sys). Partition Manager does not use a removal lock for the read\/write I\/O request packet (IRP). This behavior causes Partition Manager to access a nonexistent device object.
