The IC\u2019s were submitted to the Linux kernel, making Microsoft a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/blog\/open-source\/top-five-linux-contributor-microsoft\/9254\" target=\"_blank\">top 5 contributor<\/a>.&#160; Then we had CentOS distro support \u2013 making a lot of people very happy.&#160; And now we have a <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=11403\" target=\"_blank\">new 3.1 version of the IC\u2019s<\/a> that adds newer OS version support and more Hyper-V features.<\/p>\n<p>Over in OpsMgr world, guidance for installing Linux agents is placed right up there with guidance for installing Windows agents.&#160; I\u2019ve made it no secret that I actually like how the OpsMgr team did OpsMgr 2007 Linux agents (self-serviced cross certification) way more than how they did Windows workgroup agents (flaky <em>MOMCERTIMPORT <\/em>based on custom x.509 certificate templates).<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft are really taking cross-platform or heterogeneous environments seriously.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s hoping for a Microsoft-written DPM agent for LAMP, and maybe a Microsoft-written ConfigMgr client\/agents for Linux too!&#160; That would complete the stack and probably help System Center Management Suite sales in those beloved Fortune 1000\u2019s.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px;
