{"id":10806,"date":"2010-08-24T08:57:46","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T08:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10806"},"modified":"2010-08-24T08:57:46","modified_gmt":"2010-08-24T08:57:46","slug":"remove-a-missing-host-from-vmm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10806","title":{"rendered":"Remove a Missing Host From VMM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My current Hyper-V lab includes a VMM server and a Hyper-V host.&#160; The VMM server used to manage another Hyper-V host which no longer exists.&#160; It appears as offline in the VMM console, which is a bit painful because I\u2019ll be doing some demos with this machine in the coming months.&#160; I\u2019d like it to be a bit cleaner.&#160; Try to remove the missing host and I am asked for credentials and then I get this failure:<\/p>\n<p><em>Error (406)     <br \/>Access has been denied while contacting the server &lt;servername&gt;.&#160; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Recommended Action     <br \/>1. Verify that the specified user account has administrative privileges on &lt;servername&gt;.      <br \/>2. Verify that DCOM access, launch, and activation permissions are enabled on &lt;servername&gt; for the Administrators group.
