{"id":10376,"date":"2010-02-10T17:54:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-10T17:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10376"},"modified":"2010-02-10T17:54:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-10T17:54:00","slug":"kb978560-vmm-2008-r2-rollup-package","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10376","title":{"rendered":"KB978560: VMM 2008 R2 Rollup Package"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/978560\" target=\"_blank\">rollup package<\/a> for VMM was released by Microsoft last night.&#160; It is made available via Windows Update.&#160; It contains a number of fixes:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><u>Issue 1<\/u><\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Consider the following scenario: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A user is a member of the Self-Service User role. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>A new virtual machine is created, and the user is assigned the owner of the virtual machine.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>In this scenario, the user cannot connect to the virtual machine by using the Self-Service Portal. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><u>Issue 2<\/u><\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Consider the following scenario: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A highly available virtual machine is offline. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Quick Storage Migration is used to move the offline virtual machine to another storage location that is in the cluster. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>In this scenario, the virtual machine does not migrate to another node that is in the cluster by using Quick Migration or Live Migration after Quick Storage Migration is used. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u><em>Issue 3 <\/em><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>VMware virtual machines are not listed in the Virtual Machine Manager console if there are duplicate custom named tags in VMware Virtual Center. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u><em>Issue 4 <\/em><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Consider the following scenario: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>A new virtual machine is created, and the owner of the virtual machine is a member of the Self-Service User role. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>While the create virtual machine job is running, a user is added or removed from the Self-Service User role. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>In this scenario, the user is not added or removed from the Self-Service User role because the create virtual machine job is running. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This rollup also includes the resolutions that are documented in the following article for a Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 hotfix rollup package <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/976244\/ \" target=\"_blank\"><em>KB976244<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to fellow MVP \u0410\u0440\u0442\u0451\u043c \u0410\u043b\u0435\u043a\u0441\u0430\u043d\u0434\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0447 \u041f\u0440\u043e\u043d\u0438\u0447\u043a\u0438\u043d for the heads up.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-bottom: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: none; padding-top: 0px\" id=\"scid:0767317B-992E-4b12-91E0-4F059A8CECA8:85935b8a-2f6c-4719-9f6c-58482471aa11\" class=\"wlWriterEditableSmartContent\">Technorati Tags: <a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tags\/VMM\" rel=\"tag\">VMM<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tags\/System+Center\" rel=\"tag\">System Center<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This rollup package for VMM was released by Microsoft last night.&#160; It is made available via Windows Update.&#160; It contains a number of fixes: Issue 1 Consider the following scenario: A user is a member of the Self-Service User role.
