{"id":10354,"date":"2010-02-04T17:15:49","date_gmt":"2010-02-04T17:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10354"},"modified":"2010-02-04T17:15:49","modified_gmt":"2010-02-04T17:15:49","slug":"hyper-v-linux-integration-components-v2-0-with-redhat-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10354","title":{"rendered":"Hyper-V Linux Integration Components V2.0 With RedHat Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/downloads\/details.aspx?FamilyID=c299d675-bb9f-41cf-b5eb-74d0595ccc5c&amp;displaylang=en\" target=\"_blank\">version 2.0 of the Linux Integration Components for Hyper-V<\/a> on the 29th of January.&#160; They include support for installing on not only SUSE Enterprise Linux (10 SP1 and 10 SP2) but also RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.<\/p>\n<p>Now I\u2019ve got to expand the <a href=\"https:\/\/aidanfinn.com\/?p=10282\" target=\"_blank\">possible Linux OS\u2019s I would run on my Hyper-V farm<\/a>.&#160; Remember, I\u2019m monitoring using Operations Manager 2007 R2.&#160; It can support RHEL 4 and RHEL 5.&#160; Hyper-V now has supported integration components for RHEL 5.<\/p>\n<p>That means I can now run SLES 10 SP1 or RHEL 5 on my Hyper-V farm and be able to monitor the internal goings-on of those VM\u2019s using Operations Manager 2007 R2.&#160; I\u2019m more likely to go with RHEL.&#160; It appears to me to be more accepted and has more documentation in the blog-o-sphere that SLES.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft released version 2.0 of the Linux Integration Components for Hyper-V on the 29th of January.&#160; They include support for installing on not only SUSE Enterprise Linux (10 SP1 and 10 SP2) but also RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.
