Unlike VMware\u2019s VMFS, we can extend a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) without doing trickery that compromises performance.  And has has been documented<\/a> by Hans Vredevoort (clustering MVP) it is very scalable.<\/p>\n

How do you resize or expand a CSV?  It\u2019s a pretty simple process:<\/p>\n

  1. Use your storage management solution (I\u2019m using HP EVA Command View for the EVA SAN) to expand the size of the LUN or disk. <\/li>\n
  2. Use the Failover Clustering MMC to identify who is the CSV coordinator, i.e. the owner of the disk. <\/li>\n
  3. Log into the CSV coordinator. <\/li>\n
  4. Use either Computer Management->Storage Management or DISKPART. <\/li>\n
  5. Remember to rescan the disks. <\/li>\n
  6. Extend the volume to use all available space. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The steps for using DISKPART are:<\/p>\n
