Webinar Recording: What’s New in Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V?

The good marketing folks at MicroWarehouse have edited and posted the recording of my recent webinar that focused on the new features of Windows Server 2016 (WS2016) Hyper-V. Lots of info in slide form and some demos too. We have also shared the slides of the presentation.

Most of the demos were live, but I needed a recording for one after a lab failure. Thanks to Subhasish of Microsoft for the donation of a demo video so I could show Storage Resilience in action.

This webinar had our biggest live audience to date. We’ve already announced a follow-up which is seeing an even larger level of interest. On September 22nd, 14:00 UK/Ireland, 15:00 CET, and 09:00 EST (I think) I’ll be doing a webinar on what’s new in WS2016 Failover Clustering and storage. Expect lots of stretch clustering, storage replica, and Storage Spaces Direct. You can register here.

  1. Hi Aidan,

Was looking forward to seeing this recorded webinar but at 10:17 the video and the stuff you are talking about is completely off and seems to continue that way 🙁

Could you have someone take a look at that?

    Regards
    Jacob

    • I’ve just checked it – it’s fine. I’d suggest you try a different machine/browser.

      • I’m sorry Aidan, Jacob is right, the sound is running almost 30 seconds behind at some point. I’ve tried Internet Explorer and Firefox.

At 12:10 we see you enter “TestDemoVM” in the powershell script and it takes up to 12:38 for you to say “let’s create a virtual machine testdemovm..”

I very much like the recording, as do many people do, but it’s a bit confusing at the moment.

Either way, I’m a big fan, thanks!

        Kind regards
        Robin
